Info about supported HP and Quantum tape libraries

Post by Hoegimator » 1 person likes this post

Hi all,

Because I was looking for that last year (before we bought a Quantum Library) and couldn't the answer to it, I will post that short information and maybe you could update the "Unofficial tape library compatibility list".

The Quantum Scalar i40, i80, i500 & i6000 Tapelibraies are officially supported with Veeam version 7.0. I believe version 8 will be supported soon. You can find that here: http://www.quantum.com/swcompguide.aspx
For the HP Libraries, you can find the information here on Page 29: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/publ ... cale=en_US

I hope this helps someone to decide which tapelibrary to buy.

Cheers

Could you elaborate on that? The listed devices seem to be already there. Thanks.

We are on Veeam 8 and use a Quantum i80. I have 4 LTO6 FC attached drives in there. Works fine.

Hello Joerg,
Thanks for the useful information. Actually, every single tape device we’ve added to the list is still supported in v8 and going to be supported in the next versions – so no changes here.

Alan,
Thanks for the heads up! I am glad to hear that you are up and running
