Our job is set like this:
Incremental with Synthetic full every Saturday.
Active Full on the last Saturday of month. Is there anyway to off load this last full backup to tape? We currently have it set with a secondary target to backup to tape on the first Monday of the month(this gives the initial full backup jobs time to complete on Saturday/Sunday).
I was under the impression that when sending the full backup to tape it used the last full active backup(Saturday) instead of what it is currently doing which is creating an other full backup to disk and then sending it to tape. This is wasting valuable disk space as well as time.
Can we set up the tape job to use the last full backup job from the Saturday job or do you have a better solution?

Re: Last full backup to tape
Hello John and welcome to the community!
If you just want to send full backups to tape monthly, I would recommend to create GFS media pool with monthly retention.
Thanks!

Re: Last full backup to tape
Make a backup to tape job process only full backup files and enable "Process latest full backup chain only" check-box. Thanks.

Re: Last full backup to tape
Turns out it had to do a version update, support checked the debug logs. I updated to the latest version and am awaiting the job to run.
