I need some help to setup logistics of data migration from DAS to DataDomain and to Tape library.
We backup everything to DAS and keep 7 restore points.
It is copied to Data Domain and we keep 28 restore points.
We run GFS tape job from DAS with Weekly kept for 4 weeks, and monthly for 12 month, ans so on.
We don't have enough slots to keep weekly jobs, as it requires ~100 tapes a month, we have 98.
Is is possible to remove Weekly pool from GFS, as we keep a month on DD, or is there other way to save amount of tapes?

What do you mean exactly by "remove weekly media pool"? Make GFS to tape job not to archive weekly restore points or remove already written weekly restore points from tapes?

Set 0 as weekly media set retention overwrite protection period. With this setting in place, there should be no weekly restore points created. Thanks.
