LTO-5 tapes always have 24.9GB free after backup to multiple

Our nightly backup to tape is currently consuming 4 LTO-5 tapes (the tape job is copying the nightly backup to disk to tape), the 4th tape is only getting maybe 50GB written to it.. The previous 3 tapes in the chain all report 24.9GB free. Why doesn't Veeam fill the tapes and stop wasting my 4th tape every night? Currently on v9 but this has been an issue for quite some time, just now asking. Thanks!

Tape device may report the ‘end of media’ to the software when it gets close to the end. Thus, tape job will ask for another tape – for the detailed investigation, kindly, open a support case and let our team check the logs. Thanks.
