LTO-9 availability soon?

I was planning to swap LTO-5 to LTO-8 in our tape library when re-purposing it from NetBackup to Veeam.
However according to roadmap, LTO-9 should be available 2020 Q3/Q4 and some vendors seem to have pre-purchase programs already available.

Anyone have any rumors or info? I pinged my sales partner but no feedback so far.

We plan to support LTO-9 from Veeam B&R perspective, but I got a feeling that drives and tapes will become available next year. Accidentally found really cool promo from Quantum here: get lto8 now and replace it with lto9 later for free. Cheers!

Do you anticipate any special changes necessary to support LTO-9 or should it work out of the box? (will it even work with past versions of Veeam? )

Based on previous generations we should be able to support it out of the box, however this still must be verified by QA team. Cheers!
