Just to confirm, Veeam detects LTO type and if that does not match the barcode, then it can load/use the tape - correct?
Also, what happens if we have LTO7 WORM tapes, but apparently HP do not offer barcode label for this kind of tape type, only regular LTO7 labels are available to order.
But on the Veeam KB page, there is specific code for WORM tapes:

Re: LTO type vs barcode label mismatch
Hello JTT,
We rely on the barcode on the first place but do check the tape chip information as well. If barcode does not match the tape information - you will get an error notification in any tape related activity and such tape wont be used. Thanks!

Re: LTO type vs barcode label mismatch
Okay, but is there any kind of chance or option to override this check? For an example of using LTO7 labels on LTO7 WORM tapes?
As i understand, Veeam can still identify the tape as WORM, but does the label itself have that much affect, or is it just by design, LTO type must equal type on label if the label exsist?
We are still waiting for information from HP, because it seems that they do not offer labels for LTO7 WORM, only regular LTO7.
Also to confirm, tapes without labels, Veeam names them automatically Tape + number. If these tapes are taken out of the library and reinserted, will these tape + number match or nor? Does Veeam keep track of these tapes by the same number and is it written on the tape also?

You can potentially use those tapes without labels as a temporary workaround.Okay, but is there any kind of chance or option to override this check? For an example of using LTO7 labels on LTO7 WORM tapes?
I believe you can get those via Amazon or even print labels on your ownWe are still waiting for information from HP, because it seems that they do not offer labels for LTO7 WORM, only regular LTO7.

Name is stored on the tape and in the Veeam B&R database.Does Veeam keep track of these tapes by the same number and is it written on the tape also?

Re: LTO type vs barcode label mismatch
Hi JTT.
You may use other LTO WORM barcode, for exapmle, LTO6 or LTO8. It won't affect the tape capacity and speed (I'm not sure about HW vendor specific but at least you may try). In VBR we only require that WORM tapes have WORM barcodes and usual tapes have non-WORM ones and that there were no duplicated barcodes. Using barcodes from different generations may confuse yourself later, however, it should be less confusing then not using barcodes at all.
