Hello,
I’m running a Backup to Tape job with a GFS media pool, and I encountered an issue with the tape drive. Because of that problem, the tape job was stopped by Veeam during execution.
After resolving the tape drive issue, I manually started the tape job the next day, and the backup to tape completed successfully.
However, I noticed that the job did not run again in the evening, even though it is configured to run at that time according to the schedule.
My assumption is that because the job already ran manually earlier that same day, Veeam considered the schedule fulfilled and therefore skipped the scheduled run. As a result, the backups from that day were not written to tape during the regular scheduled window.
My question:
Is there any workaround or recommended approach to manually run a GFS tape job during the day but still allow it to run again according to its scheduled time on the same day?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Manual Start of GFS Tape Job
Hi redhorse,
A little unexpected for me, the scan should start regardless at the scheduled time, even if it ends up finding nothing to backup because it's already backed up.
Please open a Support Case and let Veeam Support review logs for the Tape GFS job. (Use the 1st radio button to export from jobs, select the Tape GFS job, and in the case note which day the manual run occurred to help Veeam Support narrow down the focus)
Please share your case number once created, thanks!
