Missed weekly backup

A few weeks ago I had a tape drive failure and missed our weekly GFS backup to tape job. The following weekend when the weekly tape job ran it wanted to put down both the weekend that was missed and the current weekend. Is this normal behaviour? And if so how can I stop it doing it? I dont mind skipping weekends but I dont have enough slots to accomodate double the backup.

Thanks for the reply - the article refers to a standard backup not GFS. There is a similar option on the GFS backup but is worded slightly differently although I have that setting already ticked it still did the double backup.

Hi sweepsd. Disable the GFS tape job and enable it again, it will 'forget' old skipped backups and will transfer only new ones.
