I ran my first successful tape backup, WOOHOO, and had it put in our Monthly media pool with a 2 year retention period. I'd like to move it to our Quarterly pool with a 7 year retention, in order to keep the tapes a lot longer. Is this possible, or do I just need to keep the tapes out of the cycle?

Hi BKeane,
There are several built in tools that might help you, but please stay away from moving the written media between media pools. First options is to export long term tape media to specific Vault with the enabled protect option: Working with Vaults and the second one is to manually mark the said tapes as protected thru the UI, so the media pool retention is ignored: Protecting Tapes.
