Hey,
i configured a gfs worm media pool but now have realized that in reality I only need a normal worm media pool for the backup jobs that I am running. I now want to move the worm tape to the standard worm media pool but the "move" option is greyed out, probably because there already have been written two backups to that tape. If I delete the gfs media pool will the worm tape then be marked as free again and can be added to the standard worm pool? Or will the worm tape get "burned"?
Best Regards
Aljoscha

Re: Moving Worm Tape between Media Pools
Hello Aljoscha
Marking a WORM tape "free" is against it's purpose. Marking a tape "free" means, it can be erased and reused for another pool/tape job. But WORM tapes cannot be erased.
--> WORM = Write Once - Read Many
You need to buy a new Tape and assign it to the new pool.
Best,
Fabian
