NEC T16A2 Tape Library
Hi.
I own a NEC T16A2 library the library part of which is recognized as "Unknown Media Changer" and the drive as IBM LTO HH3.
It works with Backup Exec.
I couldn't find any windows drivers for the library part, only for the LTO drive.
Is it possible to work with it anyway?
I'd even beta-test
Regards

Re: NEC T16A2 Tape Library
Hello Thorsten,
Please, try to use this drivers for your system - I think they should work. Also it would be highly appreciated if you update this post with the results of your tests, as in that case we could add your library to unofficial tape library compatibility list. Thank you in advance.

Re: NEC T16A2 Tape Library
I run Veeam under Win7-64 right now as the is still running on SBS2003 and that driver won't install on Win7
Guess I'll have to wait until I have the time to upgrade to 2008...
Thank you very much for your help though! I have been on that page before but only for firmware and "Media Changer Driver" was too far away from "library" or "autoloader" for me

Re: NEC T16A2 Tape Library
I have tried the drivers on a Server 2008 R2 instance and they just give an error message "Invalid product".
Thank you very much anyway!

Hi.
The unit is not supported anymore.
Guess I have to backup to disk and then use some other software...

Re: NEC T16A2 Tape Library
Looked up on the internet and yes, this one is quite old indeed. But may be you will still be able to make use of it with our next release, as we will be adding ability to leverage tape devices connected to a remote server (not just the actual backup server). And I am hoping we will support Windows 2003 for that functionality, unless we run into some OS version specific issues.

Re: NEC T16A2 Tape Library
I have since upgraded to Server 2008 R2 (for other reasons) and will be happy to test the functionality.
