One VM across multiple Tape/RDX

Post by dekkar »

Hi, a quick question, is it possible to span a single VM backup (Or copy) across multiple tapes? I have a 3TB VM that we want to backup to removable media, and our first hurdle is trying to fit it on the media we already own.

An option I can see is the RDX QuickStation which can have multiple cartridges connected. Would this be compatible with Veeam?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Nathan

Thanks for the reply. Do you think its the best plan of attack for getting offline backups?

The backup is purely to combat a cryprolocker type attack encrypting our current backup storage devices (If ever possibly in the future).

Thanks,

Offline media is indeed the best way to guarantee that at least some copies of backup data are not affected by ransomware attacks. So, your plan looks solid to me.
