Optimal Tape jobs to meet objectives

What ideally should be the best tape job setup for below, any advise would be appreciated.

Requirements:

• Full weekly backup taken at the weekend (Sat or Sun)
• Retention period of 4 weeks.
• Month end backup taken on last Sunday of the month (or last day of the month?)
• Retention period of 12 months.
• Yearend backup taken on last day of the year.
• Retention period 7 years.
• Daily backup taken every work night (Mon – Fri)
• Retention period of 1 week. (Can be overwritten on the same day the following week)

Yes, GFS media pools with Backup To Tape jobs is the way to go.

Yes that was my thinking, and just to confirm with V12 incrementals can be moved to GFS pools, no need for a standard pool

Yes. You will have to enable and specify the daily mediaset:
Enable daily media set: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120
Specify tapes for daily media set: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=120

The job will then write incremental backups to those tapes. I recommend to set the tape retention for the daily media set to 5-6 days. Having 7 days could lead to the tape not yet expired the following week when the job starts.
