Hi
we're using Veeam Backup&Recovery 10 in Hyper-v environment.
The main repository is a storeonce 3640 appliance and we use JOB to tape for long term backup
Recently we had the need to restore some files from one of the VM that has been moved to tape.
Since the VM is a file server of 15 TB with different VHDs I need to restore just one VHD .
Is that a way of doing it ?

Re: Partial restore from tape
Full VM Restore or Restore to Repository are the only ways to go.
Since backup of a VM sits in a compressed proprietary format container we have to read entire .vbk from Tape to retrieve a single disk from it.
/Cheers!

Re: Partial restore from tape
Hello
but is possible to retrieve just one disk ?
It seems not possible since I cannot select only one disk to recover, am I right ?

Re: Partial restore from tape
sc211166,
Unfortunately it's not possible to restore single disk from vm on tape. Entire machine should be either restored directly to production or to a staging repository as Egor mentioned. Cheers!
