Reading Historic Tape Catalogue

Post by hillda01 »

Hi,

I perform daily backup's to disk then turn it into a synthetic full and after that - I write the synthetic full to tape which works quite well.

I've been running it for a short while now and I've named the tapes accordingly - DF01, DF02, DF03, DF04, WF05 etc - DF = Daily Full - WF = Weekly Full.

What I don't seem to be able to see looking back at some of the tapes it's used in the past is the date in which it was written to.

With Symantec backup exec - you could tell the date the tape was written to.

Where abouts can I find that information in Veeam?

Regards,

Dave.

Hello hillda01,

What date are you looking for? The date when media was used by backup job for the first time or separate dates for every job run? Thanks.

I think I'm after the date that the job ran...

Also how long does the catalogue keep the information as to what files are on the tapes...

Is that extendable at all because I'd like to be able to look back and see what files are on what tapes.

Few more questions - what kind of tape job you're using? Backup to tape or Files to Tape one? Do you have Veeam ONE deployed? Thanks.
