Just wanted to confirm that there will be support for remote tape libraries in v8 ? Trying to plan if i'll need to move my main veeam server to my library connected system.

Confirmed.
You can even add multiple tape devices to different servers in v8.

[MERGED] : Remote Tape Support

Post by Yanish » Oct 27, 2014 6:55 am

Hi,
Can someone prehaps confirm the rumor I heard that Veeam Backup & Replication 8 will support remote tape devices?
Today veeam requires installation on a physical server with tape connectivity. Or the use of 3rd party tools such as starwind tape redirector.

Some customers require that Veeam be virtual (for certain DR scenrios) but would still like tape functionality.
I heard this may be possible in version 8?

Thanks
Gil
