Hi,
one of our tapes got marked as retired. It is one out of two from a weekly set.
What is the correct way to replace this tape so that it is used with the other tape of this set together? Is it enough to put a new tape in the weekly section of the media set?

Yes, a new tape is needed because the retired one has reached maximum number of re-writes. Putting the new tape into the correct media pool makes sense, yes. If you configured that the media pool can grab from the free media pool, then also the free media pool (doing nothing) would be an option.
