Hello,
If I did backup to tape with Hyper-V infrastructure and then migrate Hyper-v to vmware but I need to restore old data file, how can I do ?
I see restore to infrastructure is only on the same infrastructure (hv to hv or vmware to vmware) for this I need an HV server I guess.
I see I can also restore to repository. I suppose this is the way I have to choose and then use veeam explorer to restore file on vmware right ?

Correct, File Level Restore from Tape is not possible for VM and Agent Backups. You must first restore the backup files back to a disk repository and then Veeam will be able to mount the backup files for a Guest OS FLR session with the explorer.I see I can also restore to repository. I suppose this is the way I have to choose and then use veeam explorer to restore file on vmware right ?
Thanks
