Restore single VM Disk File from Tape

Good Day

Let's assume we have a single VM with 40 TB of data. There are 4 Volumes (vhdx) which each 10TB of data.
I have a Veeam Backup Job which backups the VM to Disk. The VM Backup then gets copied to Tape (Backup to Tape job, Veeam Backup Job selected as Source)

Now i need to restore one of the Volumes (vhdx) files from the Tape. This is not possible at the moment, right? so i have to restore the whole 40TB Backup (vbk) to Disk, and the I'm able to restore the single vhdx file from there? No direct Restore of a vhdx File possible from Tape?

Is there any chance that this would be possible in the near future?

Correct. You can either restore the entire backup to a staging repository or restore single VM from tape directly into hypervisor. Thank you!

Thanks, when i restore a single VM directly from Tape, in the Restore Wizard i can see the VM files (config file, disk files etc) which are restored. It would be a great feature if we could deselect the File which we don't want to be restored. so for example deselect a big vhdx file which we do not need. That would be a nice Feature i think...
