Slow disk to tape backups since upgrading from V11 to V12.1

I have just upgraded from V11 to V12.1.2.172.
The backups to my repository is running fine when I did a test after the upgrade.
However, the backups from my repository to Tape is running very slow. I get speeds of around 4-5MB/s which is very slow, whereas before on V11, the tape backups were around 90-110MB/s
Backup to disk is still fine, but it is the backup from disk to tape (LTO5) that the speed is greatly reduced.
Is there a fix to this or something I need to check?

Sorry to hear about the performance issues, and thank you for sharing the case number.

No specific known issues relating to performance come to mind, so I think let's allow Veeam Support time to review the provided logs -- I can see the case was opened only just recently, so likely a bit of time for log review is needed.

Not sure if anyone else is having the same issue as me since upgrading to V12, as I have heard that there were some issues when V12 was released with Tape backups.

Previously when I upgraded from V10 to V11, I had similar issue with the backups from my StoreOnce Repository to Tape where speeds were very slow and the Registry fix I used to resolve the slow backup speeds from the HP StoreOnce (Disk) to Tape:
Key: DisableHtAsyncIo
Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication\
Type: DWORD
Value: 1

However, this seems to not be used in V12 anymore, so is there another fix for the slow Storeonce to Tape speed issue?
Backups from Veeam to the HP Storeonce Repository is fine, so issue speedwise, only from StoreOnce to Tape which is a big issue.

Thanks for sharing the update; checking the case, I see the situation they're discussing and the new registry value that was provided -- as I get it from the case, you implemented it but did not see improvement. Please continue with Veeam Support and perhaps provide fresh logs to review why the proposed registry value did not have the desired affect.

Thanks David, I have been working with Veeam support, but the back from the HP StoreOnce repository to Tape is still very slow (5mb/s as opposed to 100mb/s when on V11).

Support has advised that using the StoreOnce in unintegrated mode using CIFS/SMB is not the best method of accessing the device which is why the performance from the repository to Tape is slow.

Support has also advised that due to changes with how Veeam handles and moves data in Version 12 the performance for reading from the StoreOnce device may not have much headroom for improvement.

But it's going to be an big issue for me, as it was working fine performance wise when I had V11, so not sure what the next steps are to improve or have the performance restored.
I would have thought upgrading to V12 would have improvments or at least same performance in speed with the tape backups.

Has anyone else had this issue since upgrading from V11 to V12?

why not using Catalyst? from there you are even able to implement immutability.
