Tape backup job "processing" a small daily incremental .vib for days

Hi, out of around 40 backup jobs, we have just 2 that hang on a .vib file for days. Sometimes they complete, but sometimes not. I had a ticket open, but due to other commitments and as the jobs are of a less important environment, I've just disabled them and will rely on my Immutable "virtual air gap" *shudder* disk stage backup on these for the time being.

The support ticket was basically blaming antivirus software, but even after disabling this on everything used in the job it still happens. All my other backups are fine. I even recreated the backup job on these 2 from scratch and after a few days an incremental appears that it just sits processing.

I'm interested if anyone else has seen this. I'm on 12.2 and my original case number was 07371621

Hi Stuart,

Thank you for sharing the case number, and sorry to hear about the challenges.

No known issues like described, so unfortunately we will need a case to review the behavior further. As I understand from the case notes, the case was requested to be closed for the time being -- understood that other tasks and priorities take precedent, and once you're in a position to resume the investigation, please open a case once more and include logs for the affected job. (Use the 1st radio button and select the tape job, this will ensure logs from all relevant backup infrastructure servers are collected)
