Hi
Do the tape backup jobs use a proxy server and if so how are these selected? The reason I ask is that when I look in the VBR console in Files, Tape I see the backups on tape but only one proxy is shown. I would have expected if proxies were used then all available would be used. We have 8 proxies and 4 are assigned to specific backup storage and 4 assigned to the copy storage

Re: Tape backups and Proxy server
Hi Paul,
Tape backups don't really use a proxy, they utilize source repositories where the backups are stored and the tape server which is connected to the tape hardware.
In the Files view, the files on tape are organized by the source host they backed up from.
So for the purposes of planning concurrent tasks, just ensure the repository has enough task slots and the tape server meets the system requirements
