Tape Job Schedule

Hello Guys,

Here my problematic, my customer has daily backup job from Monday to Friday, the Friday evening he launchs an active full. The active full finishes in the Saturday evening.

He bought a tape library and he want to backup on tape everyday the increment and the full the weekend

How to schedule that in Veeam?

I wanted to use GFS Media set with daily media set but we cant select the day we want. Only everyday it's possible. I 'm a bit affraid with the active full.

I want increment on the daily media set and full on the weekly media set.

Does the customer want to have same retention for increments and active fulls or he wants to keep the fulls for longer?

The idea is to protect the daily during one week and full for 4 weeks.

So you need to create GFS Media pool and weekly and daily media sets.
Also create backup2tape job and click Schedule to select days for each media set.

That's true. Daily backup will write every backup since it's last start, except full backups stored in the elder media sets. To avoid full backup being stored in the daily, make sure that full backup for the source job is created at the say when you want to perform a weekly/monthly/yearly backup (just make sure schedule is the same).
