Tape Out cancels Source Job

Post by ElmerAcme »

Hello,
We have updated from V11 to V12 last week.
Now it seems to be, that our Tape Out is working different.

We are doing a daily incremental backup from Mo – Th. And on Friday a full backup.
The tape out will take the last full backup of those jobs.

With V11 the daily incremental ran during the tape out, with no problem.
With V12 the daily job will cancel the tape out. After the daily is done, the tape out starts from beginning.
Regarding the support, I need to set the option, that the source job cannot cancel the tape out.
But this will lead to pause the entire Job, which means that we don’t have a daily backup for about 1 Week.

Can someone give me a helping hand for planning the jobs to have a daily incremental while the Tape Out is running?
Thanks

Hello

There is a known issue. Please set this registry key and see if it helps:

post486920.html#p486920

Code: Select all

Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam\Veeam Backup and Replication
Name: TapeBackupLocksResolution
Type: DWORD
Value: 0

Hello,
the support send me the same RegKey Yesterday.

Right now, the TapeOut is not canceld, but set to idle during the source job is running.
I need to check, how the tape out resumes.
> Will the tape out of a VM, which was set to idle at 90%, restarts from the 0% or restart at 90%?
As 2 of our VMs will need more than a day for the tape out, a restart at 0% will lead to an loop :(
Once I was able to test this, I will post the result.
Thanks
