Tape Restore Issue

I am trying to restore from tape. We have 2 tape machines at two different sites. (our Main site and DR site) I took a tape from our Main site and put it in the tape machine at our DR site. Both tape machines are connected to the same veeam server. When I tried to catalog and inventory the tape we got an error saying the tape was in use by another application. We also ran into the issue of duplicate bar-code. The Tech from Veeam that I was working with had created a new database to fix the duplicate bar-code issue but we are still getting the error " tape in use by another application.

Just to clarify: had you removed the tape from a catalogue before you started cataloguing it on the other tape machine?
