Tape Retention Query

Hi Chaps. Am after some community input here.

We need to export a monthly tape once a month and leave it protected for 12 months.

Currently - We run a full tape backup every Saturday and mark the tapes as protected for a calendar month. We need one of those tapes per month exported/protected offsite for a year. What's the best approach? A new tape job entirely using a tape pool with the appropriate retention policy ?

Secondly, We run an IBM Tape Magazine with two LT06 heads. The mag can store about 50 tapes - is it possible to get VEEAM to export the media to the export slots rather than just eject the tape from the drive?

Have you considered using GFS Media pool with monthly and yearly media sets?

You can choose in the job options if you want to export or eject the tape.
