Tape SAS Adapter Question
A while after I built my baremetal VBR host, I discovered that the SAS adapter I'm using to connect to a tape library was not in the servers Hardware Compatibility List. Because of this, my fans run at a much higher idle RPM and there is significant noise. I now have a compatible SAS card, and I want to swap it into the host, but I expect this will anger the configuration database gods and cause the tapes to become unrecognized. Is there a way for me to swap this card in without causing a ticket generating event?

Re: Tape SAS Adapter Question
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
I see no reason why a SAS card change should generate issues with the configuration database, because the drive / library / barcodes stay the same.
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Tape SAS Adapter Question
Thanks HannesK, you were correct. After getting drivers sorted out it was like nothing ever happened.
