Hi,
I noticed recently that one of my tapes had moved to the retired media pool.
I put it down to a on-off (perhaps human error), so deleted it and re-added to the main media pool.
Now I have noticed that another tape has moved itself to 'retired'.
I have had a few issues with failed jobs recently due to tape drive errors, but strangely they are not on the same days that these tapes have retired.
Why would this be happening?

Re: Tapes seem to automatically be moving themselves to 'retired' media pool?
Hi Mike.
Tapes are automatically moved to the Retired media pool when drive sends one of the following alerts: 3, 4, 7, 8, 12, 13, 15, 52, 53, 54. List of tape alerts may me found, for example, here. Check tape jobs finished with warning to find the reason in your case.
