Using Veeam Tape backup and NetBackup together

Post by AdamC »

I'm using Veeam 9.0 and I'm wanting to use Veeam Backup and also continue using my NetBackup software as well. When I run the Veeam Tape backup it fails because another program is running. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks

Hello Adam,

Unfortunately, it’s not supported. Possible workaround is to disable 3rd party soft completely while testing Veeam B&R tape functionality.

Is there someway we can get this function on the request list for the next Version of Veeam because it would be cool to be able to run both applications so they can use the same tape library?

There are various backup applications with tape functionality included. It'd be rather hard to make our software work for every possible combination. Let alone, testing efforts.

So, I doubt that will have this functionality in the foreseeable future.

Thanks.

For now you can use pre/post-job scripts to stop third-party services remotely.

Thanks
