So I have a customer that wants to use Veeam backup to AWS. They backup 30 days locally and then everything else they want to goto S3. Problem is they have like 50TB of data they want to bring into the AWS VTL and I was hoping we could pre-seed S3/VTL with the AWS Snowball appliance. The way I see it, we copy the Veeam data to the snowball and get it uploaded to S3, then veeam connects through the AWS/VTL and "recognizes" that old data and somehow incorporates in into B&R? Tell me if I am completely off base here.
What other methods could I use?

Re: Veeam w/ AWS Storage Gateway VTL & Snowball
Hello,
unfortunately it's not possible because Snowball is not really S3 compatible. We looked at it and supporting it...
Best regards,
Hannes

Not sure what you mean by Snowball is not S3 compatible. Its sole purpose is to injest data into S3.

I mean that it has a different S3 API implementation which we cannot use. It sounds strange, but that's what it is.
