VSB files remain in repository

I have seen some information regarding VSB files remaining after full tape backups but from what I saw there was no resolution. I understand what the files are used for but should they be deleted automatically by Veeam? One of the jobs has 13 GB of .vsb files. Am I OK to just delete them?

The jobs are straightforward backup or copy jobs that are then backed up to tape and this is the same for all tape jobs

Hello Paul,

Yes you can deleted those. Generally vsb file should be deleted once the backup job to tape job is completed, so I'd recommend you to open a support case and ask our support team to investigate the root cause. Please do not forget to include the case in in this thread. Thanks!

Hello,

Same problem with my Veeam 9.5 Update 3, backup on StoreOnce and randomly vsb files are not deleted.
Source backup jobs are incremental all days except Thursday, it's a synthetic full backup.
Didn't find what is the issue for now and i will open a ticket to support
