Weekly Tape-Backup needs more space than my Daily

Hi,

i have one question to my tape-backup configuration.
I have two mediapools (Daily and Weekly) with the same configuration and two backup-to-tape Jobs, also with the same configuration (except the scheduling).
Both jobs copy the last full-backup of my vms to tape. The backup-job runs in the reverse-incremental-mode.
Now my problem: the daily-to-Tape needs 2,6 TB of space and the weekly needs 4,9 TB.
How is that possible ?

And what is the size of .vbk on disk? Once tape backup is done, do you have same size on tapes?

Hi Thanks for your reply,

the size on disk ist the same. There is no hardware compression enabled. I think the job copies some files a second time.
On the daily job there are 66 files to copy. In the weekly job there are 132 to copy.

Is that backup to tape or file to tape job?

It is a backup to tape job.
No i haven't. I will test some other configuration.

Got it 66 backup files were copied. Indeed looks like there is some unexpected duplication. Please contact the support team and post case number once you get it.
