backup of a sles for sap virtual machine on azure

Post by Luca82 » Jan 10, 2019 4:00 pm

Hi everyone, I don't know if this is the correct section for posting this question... if not, please suggest me where to post my question.
One my client is asking me how he can do a backup for a sles sap virtual machine hosted on azure. The backup will be stored on azure as well (azure storage). I suggest him the use of veeam agent for linux 2.0.1. He has a veeam enterprise server on premise. How he can manage the backup? Can he still use the veeam server console on premise or does he need a new veeam server or maybe a veeam availability console server hosted on a azure virtual machine? Thank you.

In such scenario you'll need to ensure that you have all required ports opened between between on-prem VBR server and the agent. Therefore, there are several options:

a. Open up ports in Azure

b. Configure VPN (VeeamPN is worth checking)

c. Deploy VBR in Azure
