CLVM is not supported.

Post by Ralf_freihaendig »

Dear team at veeam,

at my company we have the demand to backup a RHEL Cluster that is running on ESXi 6.0u2 and utilizes CLVM luns that are connectd as RDMs. (software vendor requirements)
Our main backup solution is Veeam B&R and we would love to backup the mentioned cluster into the veeam backup repository.

Your support engineer gently advised me to post a new topic in this forum. [ID# 02068703]

Even when i try to avoid the CLVM volumes it says:
veeamconfig job create --name daily --repoName "[backup]Default Backup Repository" --maxPoints 7 --objects /dev/sda1,/dev/sdb1,/dev/sdc1,tmpfs
Error: Skipping clustered volume group vg_<name> LvmDriver: Failed to open VG [vg_<name>] with mode [r]. LvmDriver: Failed to get VG names.

My Question: is support for CLVM planned in the near future?

Regards
Ralf

Hi,
is support for CLVM planned in the near future?
Not yet, however if the feature gains enough demand it will be included in the list of future features.

Thanks
