You can install VAL on the other server, copy the backup file and restore files from it.

For bare metal recovery we offer an iso which you can use and allows you to restore a full machine.

1) yes, you can install it on multiple servers.
2) in the x64 folder of the download there is a file (veeam-recovery-media-1.0.0.499.iso) which you can mount on a server and launch at boot for bare metal recovery

You can restore from the right side to the left however lvm support is being finetuned based on other feedback (see veeam-agent-for-linux-f41/does-veeam-ag ... 36134.html for additional info).

As mentioned in the thread it is not yet fully supported in the beta status and will be optimized towards GA. The reason why it can't find an OS is probably related to the bootloader not being restored as it should.

Currently it is a known bug that the restore of the bootloader results in an error. We'll make sure this will be resolved by the GA release (maybe in the next beta built even). Installing grub should resolve it but this is not something you should have to do manually in case of a full recovery.

If you install grub manually now it should work however I haven't tested it. If you are going to try this I am looking forward to feedback!

ok

i find 2 big problem in this agent that if these problem solved it will be biggest and first application in world that can restore a linux system such as windows

1 - if get a disk it can not automatically format that such as backup system and have to careate all vloume groups and
LVM manually with VAL

2 - after restore complete we have to install maually grub for successfull boot and use system after restore complete have to boot wirh redhat rescue mode and use these commands :

bash-4.1# chroot /mnt/sysimage
sh-4.1# grub-install /dev/sda
sh-4.1# exit
bash-4.1# exit

if you can do solve these issue it will be best and so user friendly

when will release next version ?

Hi,
ok but my means is it automatically create al LVM and volume groups but i think it can not
Automatic LVM restore procedure is planned to support only "the same configuration" scenario, i.e. a restoration of a 500GB drive to another 500GB drive.

Could you please provide more details about the way you've performed restore? Did you choose "restore the whole disk from"? What kind of table do you have on the disk that is in the backup - is it GPT or MBR?

Thanks
