Mysql files excluded?

Post by masonit »

Hi

If I backup a Linux server with Mysql databases. Will Agent for Linux (type: server, entire computer) then try to backup database files, or are the excluded? If it tries. Is there any risk of locks?

If you select entire computer we will backup the complete server including those database files. The impact on the database depends on a particular engine (InnoDB, MyISAM) that is being used and how it handles filesystem flushes and COW snapshots. You should use pre-freeze and post-thaw scripts in order to prepare the database for the backup.

Thanks!
