Network filesystems (NFS, SMB) cannot be backed up.

I'm having some trouble doing a file level backup on a Debian 8.0 server. When adding the folders, it's telling me that it cannot backup NFS or SMB; what's odd is the folders I've selected are stored locally. Any ideas?

(And yes, I've tried running veeam as the local user, sudo and as root; all result in the same thing.)

Exact error is 'Network filesystems (NFS, SMB) cannot be backed up. Please exclude: /.'
The folders are /var/www, /var/lib/mysql and /media/data

FSTAB is below
Code: Select all
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a
# device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices
# that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).
#
# <file system> <mount point>   <type>  <options>       <dump>  <pass>
# / was on /dev/sda1 during installation
UUID=***removed*** /               ext4    errors=remount-ro 0       1
# swap was on /dev/sda5 during installation
UUID=***removed*** none            swap    sw              0       0
/dev/sr0        /media/cdrom0   udf,iso9660 user,noauto     0       0
/dev/disk/by-uuid/***removed*** /media/data auto nosuid,nodev,nofail,x-gvfs-show 0 0
UUID=***removed***       /media/backup   ext4    errors=remount-ro       0       0

Hi,

Did I get it right - you had selected /var/www, /var/lib/mysql and /media/data for file-level backup and the Agent gave you the following error:
Code: Select all
Network filesystems (NFS, SMB) cannot be backed up. Please exclude: /.'

although those folders are local, is that correct? Are there any network file systems mounted on the machine? Could you provide the output of mount and lsblk -af please. Also please collect VAL logs (use 'M' key on the main screen) and PM me the link.

Thanks

Thanks

Sorry, I just saw this. I did an apt-get purge of Veeam and reinstalled from scratch, it seems to work fine now. Thanks for the help anyway!

Hi,
I receive the same error, when trying to back up /etc and /home from my workstation. Both folders are stored locally, but my users home folder is encrypted, maybe this is the problem? Is there a way to backup this folder?

I can provide the outputs you requested from lowerseven, if needed.
OS is Kubuntu 16.04, with encryption enabled on /home.

Error:
Network filesystems (NFS, SMB) cannot be backed up. Please exclude: /home/*username*.

Thanks

Hi,

If you're 100% positive that the devices that you've tried to backup are local block devices then please contact our support team directly and provide them with the logs, because that must be a bug. Also please post your case ID.

Thank you.
