I have covered this in the latest Veeam forums digest. The RTM is expected this week, as soon as QC signs it off we will make it available through support (without waiting for GA) to all customers with support cases open on this issue.

It will get to the repositories on the same date when Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Update 3a becomes generally available.

Thanks

Hello @PTide,
partially related:
will it also include openSUSE 15 support, or that will be a different one?

Regards,
manuel

While I'm happy there's a solution, and I'm sure it's coming soon, you may as well have told me that it was due at three hairs past a freckle..... I'm having a heck of a time making sense of release information.... i just can't seem to find it (the info) anywhere...

:/

Ah well... I've created a support ticket and will await their response anyway.

Thanks!

Basically, since normally there are a few weeks time span between RTM and GA (General Availability), we have decided to make an exception this time due to a magnitude of this issue, and make the RTM build available through support for the affected customers. Hopefully this clarifies why you cannot find the release information anywhere except here yet. Thanks!

Does this include those of us that had our support tickets closed because we were running 7.5?

We are running CentOS7 with kernel 3.10.0-862.3.3.el7.x86_64. I can confirm that Veeam for Linux 2.0.1.665 no longer crashes the OS.

I have installed the 2.0.1 update and I've been able to run a backup on RHEL 7.5 with the latest kernel with no issues.

Hi,

Please note that VAL 2.0 is not compatible with RHEL 7.5. You need to contact our support team in order to obtain 2.0.1 which works fine with 7.5

Thanks

I wondered that myself. I'm guessing it's because it's RTM (Release To Manufacturing), not GA (General availability).

Just out of curiosity, was Fedora also affected? It's upstream from RHEL so it should have been?

That's right.

The current (2.0.0.400) version supports Fedora up to Fedora 26. The upcoming version will support Fedora 27 and Fedora 28 as well. Does that address your question?

UPDATE: The most recent version that addresses the issue is GA now.

Thanks
