Veeam Agent for virtual machines

Post by lukeroom » Jul 11, 2017 9:59 am

Hi Team,

can we use the Veeam Agent for virtual machines? We can´t use Snapshot-technology on one part of our servers. So we can not use Backup & Replication.

regards

You can. May I ask why you can't use Snapshot technology on those servers? Just to make sure it is actually 100% possible with VAL as a replacement.

We us shared storage feature, so we can´t use Snapshots: https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/micro ... Id=1034165

The second problem is that we use several oracle and microsoft sql databases on one server. We want backup this databases to different times and dont wan´t to make many Backup & Replication backups.

Keep in mind that our agents don't support clusters yet so we don't have actual integration on that level. This is planned for a future version.

This is my plug for a Feature request for the Veeam Agent for Linux to provide support for the Oracle RAC cluster with bus-sharing
