Centos 6.7 and 6.8 but I'm facing a new error after installing the product veeam-release-el7-1.0-1.x86_64.rpm

the rpm that you are installing is for CentOS 7,identified by the el7 of the rpm, if I am wrong some let me know.

It isn't mentioned here though you may have already addressed it, but your first comment mentions you are installing an EL7 rpm on an EL6 OS. Will that make a difference, or was that just a typo?

There is el6 package for CentOS 6 and a separate el7 package for CentOS 7, those two cannot substitute each other.

Thanks

[MERGED] Ubuntu issue

Veeam Logoby cladmonitor » Wed Feb 15, 2017 11:57 pm

Install goes fine but using commands $ veeam or $ veeamconfig ends in a time out after about 45 seconds, error is " Error: Failed to connect to the port [127.0.0.1:3500]. "

Troubleshooting details:
- Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS
- reinstalled vaeeam/veeamsnap
- veeamservice is running
- I can verify that it is accepting requests at 127.0.0.1:3500
- here is veeamconfig.log

Can you post the output of dmesg -T?

[MERGED] Failed to connect to the port [127.0.0.1:3500]

Veeam Logoby tcimunn » Sat Feb 25, 2017 11:45 pm

I am running into repeated problems trying to install the agent on CentOS 6.8. I get in installed without issue but can't seem to get beyond the install.

If I run veeamconfig ui or anything I run into
Error: Failed to connect to the port [127.0.0.1:3500]

If veeamagent is supposed to be started, it isn't and a reboot doesn't do anything good.

I've done uninstalls, cleanup and reinstalls and same result.

What am I missing? Have reviewed docs and forum and I don't think I've got anything odd in the mix.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you see if you can start the service manually via /etc/init.d/veeamservice start ?

There is also more advice in post221298.html however if nothing works please feel free to contact our support and leave the ID here for future references.
