Veeam Recovery Media

Post by patrickwilson82 »

I'm trying to create a custom veeam recovery media file from the command line. I've installed genisoimage and xorriso, but I'm not really sure about the next step. What is the input file for veeamconfig config patchiso --efi --input <input_path> --output <output_path> and how do I create it, if I don't have it already?

Hi,

You have to specify absolute path to origianl veeam recovery ISO as --input and absolute path where you want the patched .iso to be placed to as --output. For example:

veeamconfig config patchiso --input /home/admin/veeam-recovery-media-1.0.1.364.iso --output /mnt/recoveries/hostname-veeam-recovery-1.0.1.364_patched.iso

Thanks

Ok, so I uploaded the iso that I downloaded from your website, ran the command as follows. "veeamconfig config patchiso --efi --input /home/veeam/veeam-recovery-media-1.0.1.364_x86_64.iso --output /mnt/nasbackup/centosveeamtest-veeam-recovery-1.0.1.364_patched.iso". And now I'm getting the error "isohdpfx.bin not found".

You need to install syslinux utils package that provides isohdpfx.bin:

Code: Select all

yum install syslinux
Thanks

So I'm trying to set up the Veeam Recovery Media on a different server now. When I run the command "veeamconfig config patchiso --efi --input /home/veeam/veeam-recovery-media-1.0.1.364_x86_64.iso --output /mnt/nasbackup/dns.aticus.agile-veeam-recovery-1.0.1.364_patched.iso" I get the error

Code: Select all

Error: No such file or directory
Failed to connect: /tmp/veeam/socket/veeam.sock.
Failed to connect to local socket.
Any suggestions?
