#03512932 Parametername: hostNameOrAddress NULL Value
Hello, everybody,
i've had problems getting the Veeam Agent to run since a server snapshot was restored. Backups fail with the following error message:
14/04/2019 20:05:48 :: Error: The value must not be NULL. Parameter name: hostNameOrAddress
I have already tried to reinstall the software. Unfortunately without success. I also noticed that uninstalling the agent from the Control Panel does not remove all data from Veeam. The folder C:\ProgramData remains.
Also it is not possible for me to create a support case in the agent. Error: Update to the latest version.
Update check says that there are no updates available.
System: Windows Server 2019 Version: 1809
Agent: 3.0.1.1.1039 - Free Edition
Thank you very much.

"File a support case" is an awful response on this forum. What is the point of these forums if Veeam employees are responding this way? Maybe this forum should be titled, "DID YOU FILE A SUPPORT CASE?"

This is a technical forum to discuss features, configurations, and feature requests - not a support issue forum. This is why we provide official support.
Whenever an error like the above is posted, it will require the assistance of support and a case ID and therefore we redirect you to support as published in our forum rules. If you are receiving the same error, then support will be happy to assist you especially since this original post is about 4 years old.

The point of these forums is clearly documented in the rules displayed in red font when you click New Topic. Here's the direct link to the post explaining the purpose of these forums (see the second post of that thread). What is the point of these forums if Veeam employees are responding this way?
It *is* in fact titled accordingly more or less, see in the top left corner: "Not a support forum!"Maybe this forum should be titled, "DID YOU FILE A SUPPORT CASE?"
Please don't ignore the rules of communities you choose to participate in.PFFT! Veeam staff, please do better next time
