about p2v migration by instant VM Recovery

Post by brighton0725 »

Hello

My team member tried to move P2V by Instant VM Recovery as blow.

1) backed up Physical Server by Veeam Agent 5.0.0.4301
2) moved Physical Server to Virtual Machine by Instant VM Recovery
3) tried to power on VM but failed to do it
4) succeeded in starting vm after doing Quick Migration.

There are two questions.
1. When I want to move P2V, do not I need to run step 3) ?

2. Why could vm be powered on after quick migration ?
I would like to know how it works.

Hello,
that makes little sense to me. During quick migration, the VMs stays the same. Was there maybe another reboot that "magically" fixed something?

For further investigations, please reproduce it and open a support case including logfiles.

Best regards,
Hannes
