Accessing an old backup from a PC reinstalled from scratch

A Windows 10 PC whose name was PC001 was configured to save its backup on a USB disk in a folder named H:\VeeamBackup\Backup Job PC001.
The folder contains now the backup file (.vbk) and 10 restore points (.vib files).
Due to an hardware problem the PC was reinstalled from scratch and assigned a new nome, let’s say PC002.
Let me ask for some clarification about the above scenario:
- Is it possible to mount the old backup on the “new” (reinstalled) PC in order to restore backed up files?
- Is it possible to reduce the space used by the old backup on the USB disk by simply deleting the recovery points (.vib files) or consolidating the backup files?

Yes (if you know the encryption password)

No, unfortunately there is no option to do that and I don't recommend to remove the backup files manually.
