Another Physical Server BU question/Cloud

Post by dhayes16 »

Hello. So we have another customer who only has one Windows 2012 R2 server at the moment and it is physical. So obviously we need to use the backup agent. We also have a cloud connect REPO defined at ILAND. So we are ready to go. However, I have the following questions.

#1) We were NOT planning on installing B&R (although we will if possible..See #2 below). So if we run the veeam agent "stand alone" using an enterprise license what is the best way to get the data to a local NAS as well as to the cloud repo? Do we need to do (2) separate backups (One for local and one cloud)?

#2) Can we install B&R onto the same physical server where the agent is installed? I prefer to have the agents managed via B&R and use a backup copy job. Not sure this is possible.

I apologize if this has been asked and answered tons of times.

Thanks
Dave

Hello,
1) Yes, two backups / backup jobs. Just as a note: there is server and workstation edition (no "enterprise" for agents)

2) yes you can. It's a common option to backup the backup-server

Best regards,
Hannes
