Backing up VHDX mount points?

Post by Hariseldon1 »

Will Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows backup the contents of VHDX files that are mounted to NTFS mount folders?

We have two VHDX drives mounted to mount points in disk manager:
20GB-File.VHDX --mounted to--> C:\path\to\MNT\VHDXfiles\20GB-File-VHDX\
60GB-File.VHDX --mounted to--> C:\path\to\MNT\VHDXfiles\60GB-File-VHDX\

In the Windows Server 2012 R2:
#1 Verified: both vhdx files are successfully mounted to the above mount path folders
#2 Verified: both successfully mounted vhdx files are fully accessbile + browseable in Windows Explore

In the Veeam Agent for Windows backup Job:
#3 Verified: both successfully mounted vhdx files are fully accessbile + browseable in the "Edit Backup Job" window (I can browse the contents)

Thanks!

Hello Hari

No, we don't backup the content of a mounted VHDX file.
You can backup the VHDX files, but not the content.
