Backup is failing for CIFS shares hosted on Storeonce

Hi All,

We are backing up our primary backup copy to HPE StoreOnce using CIFS shares. In most of the sites, backup is working fine. Few sites are experiencing issues. When a backup job is started, it assigns the resources required for backup job and fails after 35 to 40 seconds in processing phase. Errors reported varies for every retry of backup job. MOst common errors received are

* Network name no longer available.
* Shared memory connection closed.
* Unexpected network error.

We are able to access the share using same credentials that are running VEEAM backup services. We checked from Storeonce end. It is autheticated to allow all AD users. There is no firewall in place. No AV Software is blocking the connections. Any troubleshooting steps / where to look for the error are welcome.

HI Dima,

We are backing up a physical windows 20008 RR to StoreOnce appliance connected over LAN. We are using CIFS share as backup repositories. We are facing issues while performing primary backups itself. Latest troubleshooting steps done :

* McAfee was disabled.
* SMB V1 is created and rebooted.
* Rescan is done and new jobs are configured.

We are still receiving same error.
