Backups are not found. (Veeam free edition)

Post by Chiel »

I am an individual and I am using the free edition from Veeam.
Problem : Veeam cannot find the right backup on a partitioned external disk.

My wife and me both have a laptop and I use Veeam to back up both laptops.
For the backup I use a 3 TB external hard disk partitioned in 4.
Backups from my laptop go in D: , form my wife in F:

After backup I rename the backup to (for example) to VeeamBackup 20170629. So a new backup is freshly made every time I backup. I make a backup once a month and I store the 4 last ones.
A few days ago I made backups for both laptops (my wife’s was last)

Now I have a problem with my laptop when I tried to reinstall the last backup.
I have worked this way : start up from the Veeam recovery USB, then connect the external hard drive and let VEeam search (you cannot browse) but it cannot find my backups . The D: drive wit my backups is skipped and Veeam only comes up with one backup from the F: drive (my Wife’s laptop) and not the four as expected and the found one is with the wrong date. (Points to a deleted one if I remember well)
How can I make that Veeam searches on the D-drive where my backups are residing ?
Thank you,
Chiel Geeraert

You basically used manual Browse option, right?
