CAS servers

Post by TitaniumCoder477 »

2 x CAS servers
3 x DAG servers
All physical servers

As per the KB and Help Center Guide below, I have configured the following:
1. A Protection Group with all five servers
2. Three separate jobs targeting the three DAG servers (through the Protection Group); daisy chained
3. One single job targeting both CAS servers (through the Protection Group)

https://www.veeam.com/kb2463
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... tml?ver=95

My question is whether or not the CAS servers should be backed up separately, just like the DAG servers, or if they can be backed up in one job. As I have it now, with one job targeting both of them through the Protection Group, they do backup at the same time, so I can imagine that VSS is taking place at the same time? None of the information sources I came up with, including the ones above, detail how to backup the CAS servers according to BP. Advice appreciated!

Thanks!

CAS server just need to be backed up with Application Aware processing. It do not matter if in same job or seperate jobs (or at which time).
