Change internal ID after Clone/Restore with Veeam Agent
Dear Community,
i have done a restore from one physical machine and modified it afterwards using sysprep in order to get it working as an other machine. When trying to backup both of them, i receive an error due to the fact that the backups are using the same internal ID because of the "clone". How do i reset or change the ID for one of the 2 machines? I found nothing across the internet.
Many thanks in advance,
Sebastian

Re: Change internal ID after Clone/Restore with Veeam Agent
Hi Dima,
thanks for coming back to me. There is no exactly error message. It's more that both backups interfere with each other. The following article was not taken into consideration during the sysprep: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... tml?ver=20
It would be nice to execute the following behaviour manually:
"When you deploy the created image on the computer, Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows will re-generate its internal ID of the backup job. As a result, the backup job will be fully functional."
Regards,
Sebastian

Additional information: The backup jobs are running well when i modify the shedule with a gap of 1 hour between them. But when checking in the b&r console there is only one agent job listed (the last one of them both).

Re: Change internal ID after Clone/Restore with Veeam Agent
Hello Sebastian,
If the problem is only with backup job I recommend to flush the job setting from database (this might be sill somehow pointed to the old backup job) and start a new backup chain. Use this article for detailed how-to and let me know how it goes. Thanks!
